Thank you for supporting UKIP
A big thank you to everyone in Wigan who voted for and supported UKIP in the local and European elections.
Clearly people want change in the UK and the election results show that even in Wigan, the Labour establishment is not as safe as it likes to think.

UKIP Leaflets so good they are copied by Wigan Labour party
Good old Wigan Labour party, void of any policies they have even had to start copying our leaflet designs!
Apparently - according to Wigan Labour party , we going to cut women's pay by 50%, close Wigan A & E, let energy companies charge whatever they want, have a referendum of 1/2 million people for each and every housing application, plenty of zero contract hours and cut all holiday pay, sick pay and redundancy pay.
This complete invention of what UKIP in Wigan stands for is so utterly implausible nobody is going to believe it.
However according to point 8 of their leaflet we are gun dottin drug dealin Gangsta's so what do we know.
Wigan Labour - get a grip!

3 days before election, Wigan Labour leader announces £800k in interest free loans to his ward residents
Blog readers may recall that shortly before nominations
opened for the local election, Labour run Wigan council said that it was providing
£400,000 in interest free loans to residents living in Labour Council leader
Lord Smith's ward.
The interest free loans can be used to improve the energy
efficiency of properties, such as wall installation, new combi boilers, double
glazing, doors and loft insulation. These Wigan Council interest free loans are
not open to any other residents outside of Lord Smith’s ward, regardless of the age, condition of the
property or the financial situation of the resident.
Lord Smith announced yesterday on twitter, 3 days before local and euro elections take place, that the scheme is now £800,000, which is double the orginal declared £400,000 amount.
We have asked Lord Smith why the scheme only provides interest free loans in his ward and not to other houses in Wigan in the same condition.....
He has failed to respond.

Wigan Labour party in a panic, as anti UKIP leaflet goes out.
Wigan Labour must be getting the same feedback as we do from the voters on the door step. Wigan folk have had enough of this Labour run Wigan Council and want change. Working class voters are now switching to UKIP because they have had enough of being taken for granted by Lord Smith of Leigh and his champagne socialists.
Only trouble with the leaflet of course is none of it's true. It was UKIP in Wigan that exposed the Labour lies over the closure of Wigan A & E

Can you really trust Wigan Labour who don't tell the truth over the NHS and can't count to 3?

Ed Milliband to ban Wigan Council's zero contract hours
Why doesn't Mr Milliband just enforce his Labour party policy now on
his Labour run Wigan Council?
his Labour run Wigan Council?
We will ban worst abuses of zero hours contracts so workers get a fair deal for a fair day's work and we get social justice across the UK

Labour run Wigan council refuses to say if it is hacking into emails and phone messages
Despite a number of requests since January, Wigan council staff have refused to say whether they are accessing confidential e-mails and phone messages sent to and from Wigan Councillors.
Residents are concerned that private e-mails and phone messages sent to Councillors may have been accessed without permission by council staff.
Often e-mails and correspondence contain private information regarding issues of concern, in seeking support from their Councillor residents are sometimes in conflict with Wigan council staff and they expect a certain degree of confidentiality. However in clear breach of data protection legislation, the council has made no comment as to why, when and how often such e-mails and messages are accessed by council staff. Nor do they say who authorises such access.
Wigan council has previous form for this and it was recently discovered that Labour Councillors were passing private e-mails from residents amongst themselves;
www.wigantoday.net/news/local/mayor-kept-rule-breach-under-wraps-1-6554475
The Mayor himself was investigated by the standards board for passing confidential e-mails to his son, regarding the tendering process for some land. He also tried to keep the information quiet.
According to press reports Cllr Clive Morgan standing for re-election is under investigation by the standards board, also it is believed over a similar issue.
UKIP in Wigan will seek the truth and the Information Commissioner's Office will be contacted.
Wigan Council should come clean and admit if they have been hacking e-mails and phone messages of residents.

UKIP establish a clear lead for the European elections
Voting intentions poll shows LAB 27% (-3), UKIP 36% (+7),
CON 18% (-3), LIB DEM 10% (+1), OTHER 9% (-2)
The latest TNS European election poll reveals that over the
last three weeks support for UKIP has increased meaning they have now
established a clear lead over Labour.
The percentage of people planning to vote for UKIP now
stands at 36%; an increase of seven percentage points since the last TNS poll
(conducted at the beginning of April). UKIP now have a commanding lead of nine
points over the Labour party, who have dropped down into second with a
projected vote share of 27%.
Looking at this further, we can see that a significant
proportion of the UKIP support is made up of people who did not vote or who
voted for the Conservatives in the 2009 European elections. The former group is
one that might concern Nigel Farage and the UKIP leadership as there is no
guarantee that they will turn out to vote on May 22nd.
The Conservatives remain in third place with 18% of support
(down three points). The Liberal Democrats are in a distant fourth place with
only 10% of people intending to vote for them.
